Advanced Injury Care Clinic

About a month ago, I saw Dr. Rateif for pain in my right heel. He diagnosed me and gave me very thorough and clear instructions (he discussed them with me and then gave them written as well). He also gave me a shot, a brace, and told me to come back for a follow up in one month. When I went to check out, the lady behind the desk looked confused, told me one total, went to speak to another person, and then came back and told me a different amount owed.

Fast forward three weeks later, I was still having a lot of pain in my right foot plus new onset swelling and pain in my left foot so I called to see if Dr. Rateif could see work me in earlier. I was thrilled when they worked me in first thing in the morning, the very next business day!

When I hobbled in barely able to walk, a lady called me back and told me that there had been some kind of mix up and that Dr. Rateif was actually out of network on my insurance. I told her that I had checked with my insurance and was lead to believe that AFAA accepted my insurance and offered max savings to boot. I was informed that only ONE doctor in the practice accepted my insurance and he was not in the office. I could see Dr. Rateif that morning but would have to pay $200-$300 (and oh yeah "you have to pay out of network price for your last visit"). I hobbled right back out, cried in my car while wondering how I was going to make it through my 12 hour shifts that week (Answer: IM Toradol) and then drove home.

TLDR: Dr Rateif was great but apparently not all of the doctors in the practice accept the same insurance. Do NOT take their word for it. If you do go see them, call your insurance and verify that the SPECIFIC doctor that you are going to see accepts it.

Very friend doctors and staff. They are always willing to listen to make sure that all my foot issues are addressed.

Two year ago i was suffering from plantar fasciitis and got treatment at AFAA from Dr. Frankfather 3 month later i was running, hiking and playing golf again.

I am so thankful for Dr. Mitchell. I am an avid athlete (triathlon, marathon, softball, fitness classes) and have been down and out for almost two years due to foot problems. Over the past two years, I have seen two other podiatrists and multiple physical therapists / chiropractors, but to no avail. Then, I had an appointment with Dr. Mitchell. He diagnosed my issue pretty quickly (even though it is a somewhat difficult to diagnose issue - plantar plate predislocation syndrome) and put me on a treatment plan. I have followed his plan and my foot issue has improved so much in just 10 weeks. I know that it will completely resolve soon under his care. One super important and great thing about Dr. Mitchell is that he is interested in finding the best treatment for you based on your lifestyle and goals. I really believe he wants to treat you in a way that is conservative, yet effective and realistic. He also seemed very interested in my injury because there is not a lot of literature on conservative treatment of it. I feel like he is constantly thinking and learning so that he can be a better and more helpful doctor. He seems to really enjoy what he does and really excel at it. I have much respect for Dr. Mitchell and, again, I am so glad to be under his care.

I was a new patient , I immediately fell in love with the whole staff,Dr framer is awesome and really cares,the nurse nick is also awesome and the receptionist are so nice and friendly.I recommend that anyone and need of a podiatrist choose Advanced Foot and Ankle, preferably dr. Farner he is at the Wallace Road location at the Southern Hills Hospital you won't go wrong trust me I was very pleased!

My wife and I visited Dr. Retief today at AFACC today and had a very good experience. Oddly enough, Dr. Retief just happened to treat me for a broken foot four years ago at another hospital so it was a coincidence that my wife saw him today. He was a true professional, explained everything thoroughly and in terms we could both understand, and was able to prescribe some solutions that should help my wife's problem.

Additionally, the nurse was also very friendly and helpful. She had a nice sense of humor, but was still professional. The administrative staff working the front desk was also very polite and courteous. Overall, a great experience and glad we went there. The best thing was that service was timely. Too often you have to sit around long past your appointment time to be seen by the doctor, but they were right on time and had us in and out in a timely fashion.

Very impressed with this practice after I needed some fluid on the top of my foot aspirated. Was able to get in to see Dr Farner on the same day. It was good that an administrative person came in and clearly explained what my insurance would and would not cover after which Dr Farner quickly performed the procedure. Great experience overall.

My son injured his ankle while playing lacrosse. Advanced Foot and Ankle was able to quote CLU squeeze him in to an early appointment. The entire team were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. We were seen by two of the nicest doctors and care was exceptional. I would recommend Dr Frankfather and Advanced Foot and Ankle without reservation.
